We hosted our inaugural Sub-Only Showcase at our 2019 Connecticut tournament and it was a huge success! 28 black belts stepped onto the mats for 14 exciting Gi and No-Gi matches, all while raising more than $12,000 as a group! On the heels of its success, we hosted 3 more in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Massachusetts raising another $35,000! More Showcases to come in 2020 so check back here for future dates!

We are excited to announce that we're hosting three more Sub-Only Showcases this year and are looking for competitors (black, brown, purple, and blue) to compete on our cards in Chicago (October 19th), Philadelphia (November 9th), and Massachusetts (November 23rd). All Showcases take place after the tournaments that day.

Gi matches will follow IBJJF rules (no points) and No-Gi matches will follow ADCC rules (all submissions legal), however slamming will not be allowed. Winners will receive a medal and trophy and our Top Showcase Fundraiser will be recognized at the start of the event!

How does a Grapplethon raise money?

Fundraising for Grapplethons is usually split between online fundraising (before the event), entry fees, and raffles (both day-of the event). Most attendees will never have fundraised online (or fundraised at all) before, but that’s fine. Our platform is super easy to use and navigate, and comes good-to-go out of the box (plus we’ll be sending emails with tips and tricks to optimize fundraising along the way).

Is it limited to just my school?

Absolutely not. The spirit of a Tap Cancer Out Grapplethon is to unite the BJJ community to create change, so we strongly encourage that all schools are welcome and that politics are left at the door.

Can anyone volunteer to host a Grappleton?

Absolutely. Whether you’re a black belt school owner or a white belt with three months experience, as long as you have the passion to create real change (and a place to host it, of course) then we’ll be happy to work with you to put on a successful event.

“Working with the staff at TCO was a pleasure and they made the process easy. The donations of various items from the TCO store was definitely a help in raising money for the raffle. Raising funds and awareness was only part of the reward; it was the little stories of kindness that came out through talking with the attendees and donors that really had an impact.”
